At Unisource, we are proactively leading the industry into a sustainable future. Through our affiliations, certifications and recognitions, we are setting a positive example for eco-friendly products and business practices.

The following information will provide you with a brief sampling of our sustainability efforts both inside our walls and outside in the communities we serve:

• Lakeshore Foundation Sponsors -We partner with the Lakeshore Foundation - the official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic training site in Birmingham, Alabama - to promote Paralympic achievements. Using our Forest Stewardship Council™-certified Starbrite® Opaque Ultra paper, we produce a brochure to explore these athletes’ journeys and inspire others to support this noteworthy cause.
   
• Chain-of-Custody Certificates -We were the industry’s first national distributor to earn triple certification from these leading forest-management independent organizations: Forest Stewardship Council™; Sustainable Forestry Initiative®; and the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification.
  
  
• U.S. Green Building Council Member -We
collaborate with leaders in all industries to forge accepted standards of sustainability. The U.S. Green Building Council is the developer of the LEED certification program and is committed to building a sustainable future through cost-efficient and energy-saving buildings.


• Sustainable Packaging Coalition -We work with industry leaders to design environmentally friendly packaging. The coalition is an industry working group dedicated to a more robust environmental vision for packaging. It is a project of GreenBlue, a nonprofit that equips business with the science and resources to make products more sustainable.
